Job Summary

Welcome and interview patients to gather medical history, measure and document vital signs, prepare treatment rooms, and assist providers during examinations. Maintain accurate patient documentation within the electronic medical record while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and team members, and maintain annual competencies to support a safe, efficient clinical environment. Perform additional duties as assigned to support the success of the practice. Work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with weekends off. You must be certified as a Certified Medical Assistant and hold current Basic Life Support certification. Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be certified through the American Medical Technologist (AMT) or American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or National Health career Association (NHA) or MedCA as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers or AHA recognized equivalent or American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider
  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted
  • Ability to lift/lower objects 50 lbs. from/to floor from/to 36 inches unassisted
  • Ability to lift from 36" to overhead 25 lbs.
  • Ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force
  • Ability to maintain 20/40 vision, corrected, in one eye or with both eyes
  • Ability to see and recognize objects close at hand or at a distance
  • Ability to match or discriminate between colors
  • Ability to determine distance/relationship between objects; depth perception
  • Good peripheral vision capabilities
  • Ability to maintain hearing acuity, with correction
  • Ability to deal effectively with stressful situations
  • Ability to work rotating shifts
  • Ability to work overtime as required
  • Ability to work in a latex safe environment
  • Ability to maintain tactile sensory functions
  • Ability to be qualified physically for respirator use, initially and as required

Desired Qualifications

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program
  • One year of patient care experience
