Job Summary
Certified Medical Assistant – Women’s Health role at Lima Specialty Care. Works with the primary care physician to support patient care by reviewing/updating health records, measuring vital signs, and preparing treatment rooms. Responsibilities include greeting patients, reviewing charts and test results, documenting and verifying records, performing clerical tasks (inventory, referrals, phone duties), and ensuring diagnostic information is current. Requires active MA certification (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NHA/NCMA/NCCT or ABR-OE in some cases) and basic computer skills; BLS required for certain locations, with additional location-specific requirements. Provides compassionate customer service and collaborates with team to support patient care within state guidelines.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree or GED
- Active Medical Assisting certification from one of the following: CMA; RMA; CCMA; NHA; NCMA; NCCT; ABR-OE (Assessment-Based Recognition in Order Entry) acceptable if MA certification not obtainable (not in SC)
- BLS Basic Life Support (required at hire for some Mercy Health locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at certain locations)
- Experience: One year of medical assistant healthcare experience (preferred, not required)
- Two years of clerical experience in a physician’s office (preferred, not required)
