Job Summary
Medical Assistant in Wellstar's Float Pool Region 6 (West Georgia area) performing clinical and non-clinical duties under physician and supervisor direction. Responsibilities include preparing patients for exams, vitals, assisting during treatments, coordinating tests and follow-up care, registering patients, handling lab and radiology tasks, operating and maintaining imaging procedures with radiation protection, drawing blood and performing Point of Care testing, and providing patient-centered liaison and care coordination while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Must demonstrate competency across age ranges and adapt care to diverse populations, while adhering to safety, documentation, and policy standards and potentially serving as a preceptor for onboarding staff.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma General or GED General Certificate Medical Assisting
- CMA - Cert Medical Assistant
- BLS - Basic Life Support or BLS-I - Basic Life Support - Instructor
- Minimum 2 years Work experience in a practice setting
- Minimum 1 year Specific experience in practice specialty
- Radiology experience preferred
