Job Summary
Medical Assistant in Wellstar's Float Pool Region 1 serving Marietta, Acworth, Cartersville and surrounding areas. Works under physicians, clinical leads, and supervisors to register patients, prepare rooms and equipment, take vitals, assist during treatments, and coordinate tests and follow-up care. Performs clinical and non-clinical duties across lab, radiology, and front-office functions, cross-trains team members, and ensures patient safety and adherence to policies. Requires CMA certification and BLS; typically 2+ years of practice-setting experience and 1 year in the specific practice specialty. Radiology experience is preferred, and phlebotomy certification is preferred. Day shift in a hospital/health system environment with responsibilities spanning radiographic imaging, patient care, documentation, and interdepartmental collaboration.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- CMA - Certified Medical Assistant
- BLS Certification (Basic Life Support)
- Minimum 2 years work experience in a practice setting
- Minimum 1 year experience in relevant practice specialty
- Radiology experience preferred
- Phlebotomy certification preferred
