Job Summary
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) — Urgent Care at Bridgewater provides direct and indirect patient care under provider supervision. Responsibilities include recording medical history and vitals (respirations, blood pressure, pulse oximetry, height, weight, temperature), preparing exam rooms, assisting in planning and implementing care, administering medications, and potentially traveling to other facilities to support providers. Requires completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program and active CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NCCT certification (with state-specific requirements, notably SC restrictions). Strong clinical skills, documentation accuracy, patient communication, ability to multitask and collaborate within a high-volume urgent care environment are essential. Education includes High School/GED; licensure/certifications listed; benefits and equality policy noted.
Required Qualifications
- High School or GED (required)
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant post-secondary education program (preferred in all states except South Carolina)
- Active Medical Assisting certification from CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NCCT or equivalent
- BLS from American Heart Association (required at hire for certain Mercy Health locations; preferred at hire)
