Job Summary
Conduct patient rooming, including history gathering, medication reconciliation, and diagnostic procedures such as urinary catheterization, suture removal, and point-of-care testing. Administer vaccines and medications per provider orders, manage prenatal appointment histories, and process prior authorizations. Facilitate prescription refills, coordinate referrals, and oversee patient check-in/out and appointment scheduling. Provide health education on procedures and medications, manage telephone interactions with patients and pharmacies, and maintain department competencies in equipment handling.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) – National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Medical Technologists (AMT)
- Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) – NAHP
- Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) – National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) – American Allied Health (AAH) or American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (AHA)
- High School Diploma or GED
