Job Summary
Assist the physician in direct delivery of primary health care support and patient care management, including implementation of nursing care, front office duties, and clinical tasks. Manage all aspects of the medical office with full access to patient health information, handling scheduling, payments, billing/coding, and medical records. Perform venipuncture and operate medical office equipment while maintaining excellent communication and customer service skills. Requires RMA or CMA certification, high school diploma, and current CPR certification. Full-time Monday through Friday, 8am to 4pm and 8am to 12 noon. Located at Iredell Internal Medicine in Statesville.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds
Desired Qualifications
- Experience
- Working knowledge of all aspects of the medical practice and medical care including examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures; equipment and instruments; safety hazards, and precautions
- Training in venipuncture and the ability to perform venipuncture accurately
- Clerical experience including, but not limited to, scheduling, payments, billing/coding, medical records, and a working knowledge of all aspects of medical office equipment
- Excellent computer skills including knowledge of business software
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to pay close attention to details
- Multi-task
- Excellent customer service skills
- Current CPR certification
- Willing to complete CPR certification within 30 days of hire
