Job Summary
Room patients by collecting chief complaints, family history, social history, and medication reconciliation upon arrival. Complete telephone communications with patients, pharmacies, and health care facilities while maintaining patient information. Perform administrative tasks including check-in/check-out, prior authorizations, appointment scheduling, benefit verification, and referral coordination. Administer medications per provider orders, call prescriptions into pharmacies, and document actions in the EMR. Obtain vital signs, administer immunizations, perform wound care, and assist with in-office procedures such as lesion removal. Provide patient education and written instructions regarding procedures or follow-up at the direction of a provider.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma/GED
- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) - National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) (ARMA) - American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA)
- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) (AAH) - American Allied Health (AAH)
- Certified Medical Assistant (NCCT) - National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) - American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
