Job Summary
Medical Assistant - Upstate Cardiology. Provides indirect/direct patient care under provider supervision, documents patient information, assists with examinations, prepares exam rooms, administers medications as directed, and performs routine clinical and administrative tasks. Requires high school diploma or GED, enrollment in an MA program within 30 days of employment, and active MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NCCT, NRCMA or equivalent) within specified timelines. Experience in vital signs, collecting specimens, administering injections, and basic medical terminology. Strong communication and teamwork skills in a high-volume cardiology office. Required Qualifications
- Education: High School/GED (required)
- Enrollment in an approved Medical Assistant program (required within 30 days employment)
- Active Medical Assisting certification from CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NCCT/NRCMA (not accepted in SC for certain certs)
- BLS Basic Life Support (required at hire for some locations, preferred prior to independent patient care)
- 1 year of recent Medical Assisting experience (preferred)
