Job Summary
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in a physician-office setting at Colonial Heights Internal Medicine. Works with the primary care physician to deliver patient care, reviews and updates health records, measures vital signs, and prepares treatment rooms for examinations. Performs clerical duties such as keeping inventory, tracking referrals, and answering phones. Requires high school diploma or GED and active MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA, NCCT, NHA or ABR-OE as acceptable in some cases); BLS certification preferred/prior to independent patient care. Typically a full-time role with 40 hours, with benefits and equal opportunity employment.
Required Qualifications
- High School Degree or GED
- Active Medical Assisting certification: CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NRCMA, NCCT, NCMA, NHA or equivalent
- BLS/CPR certification (American Heart Association)
- 1 year medical assistant healthcare experience (preferred)
- 2 years clerical experience in a physician’s office (preferred)
