Job Summary
Medical Assistant – Perrysburg at Mercy Health. The role supports primary care physicians by reviewing and updating health records, measuring vital signs (pulse, respiration, blood pressure, weight, height), preparing treatment rooms for examinations, and performing clerical duties (inventory, referrals, phone coverage). Requires high school diploma or GED and a Medical Assisting certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NCCT, NCMA variants, or ABR-OE acceptable for certain states). BLS certification is required at hire for some locations. Typically involves direct patient contact in a clinic setting with emphasis on accuracy, patient service, and coordination with care teams.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Medical Assisting certification from one of the following: CMA, RMA, CCMA, NHA, NRCMA, NCMA, NCCT, NCCT, NCMA; ABR-OE acceptable if MA certification not obtained (not in SC)
- BLS from American Heart Association (required at hire for some Mercy Health locations; preferred prior to independent patient care)
- One year of medical assistant healthcare experience (preferred)
- Two years of clerical experience in a physician’s office (preferred)
