Job Summary
Certified Medical Assistant at Patterson Avenue Family Practice supports the physician team by reviewing/updating health records, measuring vital signs, and preparing treatment rooms. Responsibilities include greeting patients, verifying diagnostic test results, maintaining accurate patient charts, performing clerical duties (inventory, referrals, phone inquiries), and ensuring care is delivered within Medical Assisting scope and state guidelines. Requires active CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NCCT-type certification, high school diploma or GED, and BLS; one year of MA experience is preferred. 40-hour work week, days shift in a primary care setting with Bon Secours.
Required Qualifications
- Active Medical Assisting certification from CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NCCT or NRCMA (or ABR-OE acceptable where required)
- High School Diploma or GED
- BLS Basic Life Support certification (required at hire for some Bon Secours locations)
- One year of medical assistant experience preferred, two years of clerical experience in a physician’s office (both optional)
- Ability to review/update patient charts, measure vitals, and perform clerical duties including inventory, referrals, and phone duties
