Job Summary
Room patients, record vital signs, administer injections, perform venipuncture, urinalysis, and EKG testing. Set up and clean procedure rooms, properly discard biohazard and sharps waste, and stock supplies while adhering to aseptic technique and standard precautions. Process specimens according to proper order of draw and demonstrate basic pharmacology knowledge. This part-time role supports the Urgent Care team at Northwest Specialty Hospital, a locally owned center of excellence recognized as a Best Place to Work in the Inland Northwest for seven consecutive years.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with an active certification with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- Aware of standards of cleaning and performs in accordance with them
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others
- Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards
- Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own professional advancement
- Previous experience is preferred
