Job Summary
Greet patients, take histories and vital signs, and assist physicians during exams and procedures. Collect and process laboratory specimens, administer medications as directed, and perform basic laboratory tests. Remove sutures, change dressings, and instruct patients on medication and special diets. Manage appointments, maintain patient records, and coordinate referrals while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. This role supports medical professionals in a fast-paced environment across five hospitals and outpatient locations in Northeast Georgia.
Required Qualifications
- Active Registry or Certification as a Medical Assistant through a recognized certification body
- Current BLS certification
- High School Diploma or GED
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficiency in medical terminology and procedures
- Ability to multitask and prioritize various responsibilities
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Competency in using medical software and electronic health records
- Problem-solving skills and critical thinking
- Empathy and a patient-centered approach to care
