Job Summary
Manage patient schedules, room patients, and coordinate nursing office functions while maintaining a safe, professional environment. Take and record vital signs, assist with examinations and minor procedures, and administer medications within scope. Maintain cleanliness, comply with OSHA standards, and document accurate patient records in the electronic medical record system. Manage phone calls, file paperwork, and set up exam rooms between procedures. Report patient status to the healthcare team and review medications with patients upon administration. Monitor equipment, supplies, and medications for proper storage and expiration dates. Participate in quality initiatives under the direction of the Nursing Manager/Providers.
Required Qualifications
- Medical Assistance degree from an accredited MA program
- CPR Certification Required
- Current CMA certification preferred
- Ability to lift, move, and position patients and equipment
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds

- Ability to calculate patient data
- Ability to use EMR system and care documentation tools to support treatment
- Knowledge of role in patient confidentiality and protecting patient information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure as defined by HIPAA
- Ability to respond quickly and decisively to emergency situations while participating in shelter-in-place and disaster response protocols
- Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams, communicating effectively with patients, families, and healthcare providers
- Ability to demonstrate the knowledge and skills essential for providing care to specific patient populations
- Ability to concentrate and pay attention to details in order to get the correct information on all patients
- Ability to prioritize work to accomplish a variety of job responsibilities with the potential for numerous interruptions
- Ability to cope, handle a fluctuating workload and a willingness to pick up projects in times of decreased activity

- Ability to maintain accurate patient records
- Ability to effectively utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems, i.e. Epic
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in a variety of formats

- Analyze data and scenarios to identify patterns, inconsistencies, and opportunities

- Understand and follow MMHC procedures for exposure control / blood borne and airborne pathogens
- Comply with all relevant MMHC policies, procedures, guidelines, and all other regulatory standards and requirements
- Attire is neat, clean, and appropriate for the work environment and according to MMHC policy
- Wear proper identification while on duty
- Maintain confidentiality of all MMHC and patient information at all times
- Report to work on time and maintain defined standards for attendance
- Attend mandatory meetings

- Prefer six months to one-year related experience and/or training
