Job Summary
Provide direct patient care as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in a Family Medicine Clinic, partnering with physicians and advanced practice providers to perform clinical and administrative duties. Responsibilities include taking vitals, patient history, venipuncture, lab work, x-ray, referrals, and handling patient phone messages; adhering to safety standards and patient safety goals; assisting with procedures; organizing workflow to meet patient needs; stocking exam rooms and coordinating scheduling; maintaining sterile technique and proper specimen labeling; performing cleaning, sterilization, and high-level disinfection of equipment; supporting plan of care development, reinforcing patient education, and processing prescription refills. The role may be filled at CMA I or CMA II depending on experience, with the expectation of contributing to a high-quality ambulatory care environment and participating in compliance activities.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program preferred.
- Certification/License: Basic Life Support (American Heart Association) certification required upon hire.
- Certification/License: One of the following certifications required upon hire: AMT Medical Assistant; RMA (American Association of Medical Personnel); RMA (AAMA); CCMA (NHA); NCCT National Certified Medical Assistant; NHA National Certified Medical Assistant; NCCA Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant.
