Job Summary
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) sought for Northwest Specialty Hospital Digestive Center. Responsibilities include rooming patients, recording vital signs, administering injections, performing venipuncture, urinalysis, EKG testing, and setting up/cleaning procedure rooms for in-office procedures; proper disposal of biohazard and sharps waste; stocking supplies; adhering to aseptic technique and standard precautions; understanding EKGs, venipuncture including proper order of draw and processing specimens, and basic pharmacology.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with an active certification with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
- Aware of standards of cleaning and performs in accordance with them
- Ability to relate and work effectively with others
- Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards
- Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own professional advancement
