Job Summary
The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides patient care under the supervision of a medical provider and supports both clinical and administrative clinic operations. Responsibilities include assisting with clinical procedures (vital signs, wound care, suture removal, injections, phlebotomy, vaccines, EKGs, splints), preparing and cleaning exam rooms, handling patient intake and test result communications, maintaining logs and documentation, coordinating referrals and scheduling, verifying insurance eligibility, managing clinic communications, and educating patients on medications and health topics. The role requires strong interpersonal, time management, and organizational skills to deliver prompt, courteous service in a fast-paced cardiovascular clinic setting. Licensure/certification requirements include CMA-AAMA or NCMA-NCTT and Basic Life Support, with U.S. work authorization.
Required Qualifications
- 0-1 years of experience in a medical practice setting or completion of externship program required
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA required or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)-NCTT required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) or American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI) required
