Job Summary
Certified Medical Assistant – Cardiology at Bon Secours Hampton Roads Cardiology in Portsmouth, VA. Responsible for reviewing and updating health records, measuring vital signs, preparing treatment rooms for examinations, greeting patients respectfully, performing departmental clerical duties (checking inventory, tracking referrals, answering phones), and supporting patient care within Medical Assisting scope and state guidelines. Requires a High School Degree or GED and an active Medical Assisting certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, NCMA, NCCT, NHA, NCMA variants). BLS is required at hire for some locations and preferred prior to independent patient care at others. Experience: one year of medical assistant healthcare experience (preferred, not required); two years of clerical experience in a physician’s office (preferred, not required). Demonstrates problem-solving, basic computer skills, and strong communication and interpersonal abilities. Required Qualifications
