Conduct preliminary physical tests by measuring blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respirations while recording vital signs, drug allergies, and presenting problems. Greet patients, prepare them for care, and administer ordered medications or vaccines via oral, injection, topical, or inhalant routes. Collect blood samples, perform routine tests such as EKGs, and schedule diagnostic testing with follow-up communication regarding results. Prepare and sterilize instruments, maintain exam rooms, document patient plans and results, and escalate non-routine issues to providers or practice managers. Ensure safety checklists are completed and patient privacy rights are protected under established clinical protocols.
