Job Summary
Conduct multi-skilled patient care activities under the direction of a physician and registered nurse. Interview patients, measure vital signs including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and record or input information into medical records. Prepare treatment rooms for examinations and support a decentralized, patient-centered approach to care. Requires AMT, AAMA, NHA, or MedCA certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant or Certified Medical Assistant, plus current Basic Life Support certification. Reports to the Outpatient Clinic Manager with a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited medical assisting program
- One year of patient care experience
- Certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP) through the American Medical Technologist (AMT), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or National Health career Association (NHA)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience
