Job Summary

The Medical Assistant performs routine delegated clinical patient care duties in a pediatric health system to support medical and nursing staff, including administrative duties (scheduling, records, lab coordination) and clinical tasks such as obtaining and recording measurements, documenting medical history, vital signs, preparing patients for tests and procedures, collecting specimens, phlebotomy, performing basic POCT, ECGs, medication preparation, patient education, and ensuring infection control and patient safety. The role requires high school completion and CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/CMAC/NRCMA certification pathways within specified timeframes, and collaboration with the physician and care team to maintain efficient clinic operations. The schedule is 40 hours per week with variable daily hours, including potential Saturday coverage. influenza vaccination is required for patient-facing staff.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification within 3 months OR equivalent CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/CMAC/NRCMA certifications OR CPR certification as required by the role (AHA/Red Cross) within 3 months
