Job Summary
Conduct multi-skilled patient care activities in a decentralized outpatient setting under the direction of a physician and Registered Nurse. Interview patients, measure vital signs including pulse, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and record or input information into medical records. Prepare treatment rooms for examinations and support desired patient outcomes. Requires current certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, CCMA, etc.) and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification. Scheduled for 40 weekly hours on day shifts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited medical assisting program
- One year of patient care experience
- Certification as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) through the American Medical Technologist (AMT), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), or National Health career Association (NHA)
- Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification
Desired Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited medical assisting program with one year of patient care experience
