Certified Medical Assistant

Certified Clinical Medical Assistant provides patient care to patients and significant others via direct and/or telephone contact, coordinates with the care team to ensure seamless care delivery and active patient participation, and assists physicians or other providers with clinical procedures. Requires physical ability to move and lift patients (up to 100 pounds), use a computer keyboard, and operate in a medical office environment with potential exposure to communicable diseases and body fluids. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, and at least one year of clinical experience in a medical office/clinic or hospital setting or graduation from an accredited medical assistant program; current CPR/BLS certification is preferred. Additional preferred qualification includes graduation from an accredited medical assistant program with at least one year of recent MA experience and/or current certification as a medical assistant or eligibility for certification, with a requirement to obtain certification through the CMM MA exam course if not yet certified at time of employment.
