Job Summary
Certified Medical Assistant, AM and PM available to assist the medical team with patient triage, vital signs, patient history, EKG, injections, and EHR documentation. Responsibilities include obtaining medical history, triage, vitals, medication list reconciliation in the EHR, notifying physicians of abnormal results, assisting in exams with minor procedures, scheduling tests and admissions, coding diagnoses for insurance authorizations, explaining procedures to patients, maintaining surgery schedules, answering calls, scheduling and registering patients, maintaining exam rooms, HIPAA compliance, and completing required forms and office tasks. Requires High School Diploma or GED and medical assisting certification (CMA/CCMA/RMA) and BLS. Preference for an associated medical assisting degree and one year of medical assisting experience or externship.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent (required)
- Medical Assisting Certification from CMA, CCMA, or RMA (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (AHA) (required)
- Experience: One year of medical assisting experience in a medical facility or externship (preferred)
- Education: Medical Assisting degree (preferred)
