Job Summary
Conduct patient admissions, vital signs collection, specimen gathering, and discharge assistance under LPN/RN supervision. Perform clinical tasks including venipuncture, EKGs, Holter monitor application, vision/hearing screenings, and first aid. Maintain strict infection control, sterilize equipment, and ensure proper care of medical supplies. Liaise between patients, families, and providers while documenting all care in medical records. Maintain regular attendance, attend in-service education, and work full-time with occasional travel to multiple clinic locations.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion and graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program
- Certification (e.g., CMA, RMA, CCMA)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification
- Full range of body motion, including the ability to handle and assist patients, as well as manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Normal vision and hearing, or corrected to normal ranges
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Ability to handle and assist patients
- Ability to read and understand health care terminology, charting, and medical procedures
- Ability to perform basic health care procedures that relate to patient care needs according to the nursing skill checklist
- Ability to communicate effectively and compassionately
- Ability to relate to the health needs of the client
- Travel may be required to support staffing at Main Center, Butts County, Care Center Dobbs, Decatur, East Point, Forest Park, Gresham, Lovejoy, Griffin, Riverdale, Crescent Pediatrics, Norcross, Huie Elementary School-Based Clinic, Lee Street Elementary School-Based Clinic, and Henry County School
