Job Summary
Administer oral and topical medications to patients/residents as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse, adhering to state and federal regulations. Take and record vital signs, dispense narcotics under supervision, and observe for or report medication reactions. Document all treatments and PRN administration, ensuring medication carts and refrigerators remain secure, clean, and organized. Conduct observation rounds and supervise nursing assistants as assigned by the charge nurse. This double weekend schedule runs 6am-10pm every Saturday and Sunday. State certification as a Nursing Assistant and approved medication administration certification are mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- State certification as a Nursing Assistant
- State approved medication administration certification (where required)
- Ability to read, write, and speak the English language
- Ability to function as a Team Leader/Role Model
- Has reviewed Cantex Continuing Care Networks Clinical Policies and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and knows the employee's responsibility to enforce it
- Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety
