Job Summary
Lab Scientist or Lab Tech position at Prairie Ridge Health, 0.4 FTE (16 hours/week). Performs general laboratory testing across Hematology, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Transfusion Services, Coagulation, Microbiology, Serology, and Specimen processing with high accuracy. Develops and maintains procedures, troubleshoots equipment and samples, exercises independent judgment with minimal supervision, and may supervise others in absence of Laboratory Supervisor. Education and certification requirements vary by track: Lab Scientist requires a Bachelor's in Medical Technology with MT/CLS certification (ASCP/AMT) or HEW equivalency with 9-month certification window and CLIA high-complexity compliance; CPR within 90 days. Lab Tech requires an Associate degree with 2-year CLT/MLT training and MT/MLT certification (ASCP/AMT) within 9 months, with CPR within 90 days. Shift is 11:30am–8pm, Monday–Friday, every third weekend. Location: Columbus, WI onsite.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or equivalent for Lab Scientist path
- Registered or eligible as Medical Technologist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) with ASCP or AMT or qualified MT/CLS with HEW
- Certification must be obtained within 9 months of employment
- Meets CLIA 88 requirements for highly complex testing
- CPR certification or obtained within 90 days of hire
- Lab Tech path: Associate degree and completion of 2-year CLT/MLT training program
- Certification as CLT/MLT within 9 months of hire
- Meets CLIA 88 requirements for highly complex testing
- CPR certification obtained within 90 days of hire

- Shift: 11:30am-8pm, Monday-Friday, every third weekend 1:30pm-10pm
