Job Summary
Ensure ongoing functionality and safety of sawmill machinery through welding, gouging, repairs, and component rebuilding. Conduct routine inspections, address maintenance issues promptly, and implement preventive strategies to extend equipment lifespan. Assist other trades across the mill while strictly adhering to safety protocols and procedures. Read drawings, diagnose mechanical problems, and work effectively in teams, including roles requiring working at heights. Respond to emergency maintenance requests with flexibility in shift schedules.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Trade Journeyperson
- Proven experience in maintenance within a sawmill or similar industrial setting
- Ability to read drawings and identify equipment components
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical equipment
- Good with working at heights
- Great troubleshooting skills
