Job Summary
CERTIFIED INTERVENTIONIST provides targeted, intensive small-group instruction to Tier II and Tier III students using MTSS/RTI-informed strategies. The role analyzes progress monitoring data, conducts universal screenings and diagnostics, develops action plans to improve student outcomes, and collaborates with the Teacher Support Team and school staff to guide interventions. Responsibilities include coordinating academic data for at-risk populations, coaching teachers on differentiated instruction and Tier I supports, maintaining compliant documentation, communicating with parents, participating in professional development, and supporting transitions and summer programming as assigned. Must hold a Mississippi educator license with appropriate endorsements and have at least three years of classroom teaching experience; a Master’s degree is preferred. Reports to the School Principal and supports core district goals while adhering to ethics and district policies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
- Valid Mississippi Educator License (Standard Five-Year License preferred) with appropriate endorsements for the grade level served (e.g., K-3, K-6, or 7-12; endorsements such as 436 and/or 486 preferred)
- Minimum of three (3) years of successful classroom teaching experience with evidence of improving student achievement
- Demonstrates knowledge of federal and state laws related to education
- Must pass a criminal background check and child abuse registry check as required by Mississippi state law
