Job Summary

The Certified Intentional Peer Support Specialist (CIPSS) will provide peer-support services to BHHO clients and collaborate with the behavioral home team to deliver well-coordinated care for youth and families. Responsibilities include identifying client needs for peer supports, delivering individual and group peer support, serving as a peer role model, educating clients about their rights within mental health and co-occurring services, networking with programs to advocate for opportunities, sharing lived experience to enhance understanding of mental illness and recovery, participating in BHHO meetings, providing volunteer peer services outside regular hours, and supporting staff development. The role requires flexible hours (including weekends, evenings, and holidays), a valid Maine driver’s license and vehicle insurance, a high school diploma or equivalent, CIPSS certification (or provisional), and is grounded in the BHHO model and recovery-oriented practices. Required Qualifications

  • CIPSS certification or CIPSS provisional certification
  • Proof of vehicle insurance at $50K/$100K
  • Valid Maine driver's license
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Self identified mental health consumer who has personally experienced a severe and persistent mental illness
