Job Summary
Seeking experienced HVAC Technician for maintenance and repair of HVAC systems for railroad locomotives. Requires 2+ years in HVAC service, EPA certification, technical skills, and strong mechanical aptitude.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years in Industrial HVAC service OR Residential HVAC service (up to 48,000 BTU units)
- EPA certification required
- Accredited trade school graduate or equivalent documented experience
Desired Qualifications
- Proficient in brazing 1⁄4" to 7/8" pipe (similar and dissimilar metals)
- Read and interpret electrical schematics and symbols
- Demonstrate understanding of refrigeration theory
- Assembly and disassembly of motors and compressors
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Interpret digital multimeter and megohmmeter readings
- Operate vacuum pumps and recovery machines
- Install and interpret digital refrigeration gauges and mechanical gauges
- Conduct leak testing: pressure hold tests, handheld leak detectors, soap bubble identification
- Follow written work instructions accurately
- Work in assigned stations with flexibility to rotate as needed
- Accept direction from management and floor Lead Technician
