Certified Hospice Aide--Dallas

Job Summary

Assist patients with daily living activities including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating while monitoring and reporting changes in condition to nursing staff. Provide mobility support through transfers, repositioning, and ambulation, and offer emotional companionship to patients and families. Maintain a clean environment by changing linens and sanitizing equipment, then document all care provided in patient records. Perform procedures under RN supervision while adhering to care plans and Point Care charting protocols. Requires Texas CNA certification, CPR, and ability to lift 50 lbs. in home health and hospice settings across Dallas and Fort Worth.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification in the state of Texas
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current CPR certification
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Proof of auto insurance
  • Must pass drug test
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions and document care given
  • Ability to follow care plans and instructions from nursing staff
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and standing for extended periods
  • Manual dexterity for patient care tasks
  • Ability to safely move or assist patients
  • Compassion and patient-centered care
  • Attention to detail and observation skills
  • Teamwork and collaboration
  • Time management and organization
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Is self-directing with the ability to work with little direct supervision
  • Secure with issues of death/dying
  • Provides a calm manner when in a patient's home
  • Has empathy for the needs of the ill, injured, frail and impaired
  • Demonstrates tact, patience, and good personal hygiene
  • Licensed driver with automobile that is insured in accordance with organization requirements and is in good working order
  • Good oral and written communications
  • Good organizational skills

Desired Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of patient care practices and medical terminology
  • Knowledge of Point Care charting system
  • Knowledge of Pointcare EMR charting system
