Job Summary
The home health aide is a paraprofessional member of the home care team who works under the supervision of a registered nurse or therapist and performs various personal care services as necessary to meet the patient’s needs. The home health aide is responsible for observing patients, reporting these observations, and documenting observations and care performance. The role includes assisting with activities of daily living, meal preparation and feeding, housekeeping, medication reminders, teaching use of assistive devices, and maintaining a safe home environment in accordance with care plans and professional standards.
Required Qualifications
- Must have a current California Certified Home Health Aide Certificate
- Minimum 1+ year(s) of professional or personal experience supporting individuals with disabilities, mental illnesses, or challenging behaviors
- Possesses and maintains current CPR/First Aid certification and negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
- Must have a valid in-state driver’s license, provide current registration and insurance, and have a driving record
- Willing and able to work in the West Los Angeles County area
