Job Summary
Conduct daily personal care for clients by assisting with hygiene, toileting, dressing, feeding, and positioning per the Care Plan. Administer treatments and medications as ordered by the physician while maintaining a healthy, safe environment. Provide emotional support, encourage client independence, and document all activities on the Aide Charting Sheet daily. Report any changes in the client's condition to the nursing supervisor immediately. Carry out a wide variety of tasks under direction, including authorized errands and bill payments when documented. Maintain compliance with agency policies and state regulations while exhibiting empathy and sensitivity to the feelings of the sick and disabled.
Required Qualifications
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older
- Must have a certificate from a Home Health Aide training program consistent with State requirements
- Must have evidence of ongoing in-service education to maintain the certificate
- Must have the maturity necessary for establishing and maintaining a good work relationship with the client, the client's family and agency personnel
- Must have a sincere interest in and a sympathetic attitude towards caring for the sick and disabled
- Must be able to lift, turn and transfer clients
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stoop and bend
- Must have visual/ hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written and verbal communication
- Must be able to verbalize so that the average person can understand
- Must be neatly dressed and have good personal hygiene habits
- Must maintain good health habits with regular physical and dental exams
- Must wear an identification badge while working
- Must maintain compliance with all agency policies and procedures
- Must maintain in-service requirements as specified in State and agency regulations
