Job Summary
Provide patient care during dialysis, including insertion of fistula needles and initiation/termination of treatments. Perform routine procedures and monitor administration of heparin and Normal Saline, pre-dialysis safety tests, blood flow and machine pressures, vital signs, and respond to alarms. Install safe operations by maintaining safety parameters, assisting with patient positioning, and documenting tasks. Conduct Hard Water and Chloramine tests, keep logs, stock supplies, and maintain a clean, safe environment. Participate in staff meetings and in-service education to learn new treatment skills and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- High School graduate
- American Heart Association, BLS Provider Card - Required
- Hemodialysis Certification through either BONENT or NANT - Required
- Able to read and speak English - bilingual preferred
- One year experience in the medical field either as a certified hemodialysis technician - preferred
