Job Summary
Evaluate, plan, and provide treatment to patients with upper extremity conditions to help them regain function or adjust to disabilities. Coordinate clinical functions by assessing test results, consulting with physicians, and documenting progress in compliance with facility standards. Fabricate custom thermoplastic orthoses, instruct patients on proper use, and prepare them for return to employment by determining accommodations and retraining employees. Develop individualized patient plans, submit accurate documentation and billing by end of treatment day, and assist with protocol development, continuing education, and student training. Manage hand therapy inventory and ordering of necessary supplies. Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements and HIPAA standards.
Required Qualifications
- 5 years of experience and 4,000 hours of practice in Hand Therapy
- Must have previous experience with effective communication
- Must have previous experience with working independently
- Must have previous experience with working under pressure
- Licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Colorado
- Licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state of Colorado
- valid Compact Privilege
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) by the Hand Therapy Certification Commission (HTCC)
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
- Must have working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English
- Must be HIPAA compliant
