Job Summary
Conduct inspection, classification, valuation, and appraisal of countywide real properties including commercial, residential, and agricultural lands. Derive replacement costs using computer models and develop cost standards to determine Ad Valorem values. Survey new construction and improvements, interview property owners, and take measurements to assess condition and functional design. Record appraisal data, maintain sales files to monitor market trends, and testify in equalization hearings or court as required. Coordinate with GIS staff, analyze sales ratios, and verify computerized appraisal accuracy using USPAP-approved methodology. Respond to owner inquiries regarding evaluations and recalculate market values when current sales necessitate file updates.
Required Qualifications
- Certified General Appraiser
- Graduation from college with a Bachelor's degree
- Three (3) years full-time progressively responsible experience performing primary duties of appraising commercial and income-producing properties
- USPAP-approved appraisal methodology
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs
