Job Summary
Visit customer homes to collect detailed measurements, photographs, and structural/electrical data required for solar design. Assess roof conditions and electrical service panels; climb ladders, walk rooftops, and conduct attic inspections as required. Submit survey data using mobile field tools; perform post-installation inspections for AHJ or utility readiness; ensure installations match plans and meet workmanship, code, and safety standards. Collaborate with install teams and project managers to resolve inspection-related issues; discuss system installations with AHJ and customers; schedule inspections; maintain tools and safety equipment; represent the company professionally in customer interactions. Follow intraday schedules across locations; flexible to weekends/holidays; drive company-provided vehicles between job sites. Safety training and field-team participation required.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid state-recognized Electrical Certification at the Journeyman, Wireman, or higher level
- Minimum of one year of field construction experience preferred in PV design, PV installation, or PV electrical work (reading blueprints/plans, using tools, testing wiring or circuitry, National Electric Code knowledge)
- Comfortable working on roofs, ladders, and in tight or elevated spaces
- Familiarity with basic hand tools, measuring devices, and mobile technology
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow standardized procedures
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred
- Must be 21 years of age, possess a valid driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record with ability to pass a driving background check
- Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs
- Ability to climb and work from 20-foot ladders
- Capable of working in attics and confined spaces
