Job Summary
The Certified & Experienced Peer Recovery Coach engages and facilitates meaningful conversations with members to assist them in exploring and meeting their recovery goals. Responsibilities include providing consultation to promote Telecare’s Recovery Culture, responding to critical situations with high-level engagement and de-escalation skills in mental health emergencies, and supporting clients in behavioral health challenges. Candidates must have experience or a degree in psychology, social work, or behavioral science, along with necessary certifications and licenses.
Required Qualifications
- 2 Years full time experience, or part-time equivalent, working in a mental health program serving persons with severe and persistent mental disabilities
- High School Diploma or GED
- Medi-Cal Peer Support Specialist Certification through CalMHSA required upon hire
- One (1) year or part-time equivalent of experience supporting members served with behavioral health challenges
Desired Qualifications
- Experience as a beneficiary of the public Behavioral Health system of care
- Successful completion of Peer Support Training or Peer Employment Training
- Valid and current driver’s license
- Willingness to use the company vehicle
Additional Requirements
- Internal applicants and applicants employed with Telecare in the previous 12 months would not be eligible for any sign-on bonus
