Job Summary
Conduct daily exercise sessions and health education for patients under the direct supervision of a licensed clinician. Establish and update individualized exercise programs to address client needs while ensuring safety during treatments. Provide standardized educational programs and individualized training to clients and their families, documenting patient responses to treatment. Support therapists in providing effective treatment plans and complete other clinical duties as assigned. Work a full-time first shift in a Woodbridge, VA Orthopedic and Neurology Rehab clinic.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (Required) Exercise Science, Health Science, Kinesiology, Athletic Training, Recreational Therapy, Physical Education
- BLS is required within 90 days for hire
- ACLS is required within 90 days of hire for Clinical Exercise Specialist who work in Pulmonary/Cardiology Departments
- Productive and efficient in daily operations
- Establishes and updates the exercise program to address the Client/participant's needs
- Supervises and assists clients/participants with their daily exercise sessions, ensuring client/participant safety
- Provides effective instruction to Clients/participants and their families through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training
- Supports the health education needs of the center
- Supports Therapist(s)/Providers in providing effective treatment plans
- Documents patient response to treatment
- Completes other clinical duties as assigned
- Demonstrates ability to offer support and potential enhancements of services
