Job Summary
Independent contractor role for a Certified Ergonomist to conduct on-site and remote ergonomic assessments across office, industrial, clinical, and hybrid work environments. Responsibilities include comprehensive ergonomic evaluations, delivering client-ready assessment reports with risk ratings and prioritized recommendations, conducting asynchronous remote evaluations, identifying musculoskeletal risk factors, designing practical interventions, delivering ergonomics training, collaborating with client safety officers and HR teams, maintaining compliant records, and supporting follow-up evaluations. Requires CP(E) or CIE, a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field, 3+ years of experience, OSHA familiarity, proficiency with evaluation tools (RULA, REBA, NIOSH Lift Equation), and willingness to travel (25–50%). Preferred experience with remote/hybrid ergonomics, ADA-compliant solutions, experience across multiple industries, and bilingual abilities. Engagement type is 1099 Independent Contractor with remote-first structure and travel as requested by clients; travel expenses reimbursed.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Professional Ergonomist (CPE) or Certified Industrial Ergonomist (CIE) required
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Ergonomics, Human Factors, Kinesiology, OT, AT, or related field
- Minimum 3 years conducting ergonomic assessments (office and/or industrial settings)
- Familiarity with OSHA standards and occupational health and safety regulations
- Proficiency in ergonomic evaluation tools and assessment methodologies (RULA, REBA, NIOSH Lift Equation, etc.)
- Ability and willingness to travel to client sites (estimated 25–50% of engagements)
