Job Summary
Maintain a safe work environment and ensure consistent operation of all electrical equipment at the Blue Ridge Ranger Board complex. Perform preventive maintenance on small construction projects, troubleshoot various pieces of equipment alongside other trades, and verify repairs via computer-based software. Read Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programming using Schneider's suite of controllers and monitor product quality while providing feedback. This role requires weekend and/or shift work and reports to the Electrical supervisor as a key player in the company-wide safety culture and continuous improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Several years of experience as an Electrician
- Experience in instrumentation
- Alberta Electrical trade qualifications or Electrical Red Seal Certificate
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal and team building skills
- Demonstrated problem solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills
- An understanding of Process Controls and Instrumentation, including but not limited to electric over pneumatic, or hydraulic, GE Ifix systems, Schneider PLC's, Mitsubishi VFD systems
- Weekend and/or shift work
