Job Summary

Execute automation solutions and control systems for plant processes, including design, configuration, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation functions. Analyze schematics, implement control strategies based on best practices, and collaborate with fix/support teams to identify reliability improvements and provide training. Work in a food processing environment requiring physical exertion, standing, and use of personal protective equipment. This full-time role in Fort Morgan, CO, involves a 6-day work week and requires knowledge of PLC/HMI programming. Join Cargill's protein and salt business to support sustainable food production.

Required Qualifications

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without the need of a Visa sponsorship
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Knowledge of PLC/HMI/Controls programming languages
  • Ability to update and troubleshoot a range of electrical or instrumentation systems
  • Ability to read and analyze electrical schematics
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well in a team or individual environment and be a self-starter
  • Ability to pass an Electrical Aptitude Test
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • This position requires availability for a 6 day work week
  • Ability to lift objects weighing more than 50 pounds
  • Ability to lift 10-25 pounds
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to use stairs and/or ladders
  • Ability to work in wet and/or humid conditions
  • Ability to work with slippery surfaces
  • Ability to work with moving mechanical parts
  • Ability to work in fast paced warm/cool environments
  • Ability to use personal protective equipment

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous Cargill Experience
  • Ability to understand continuous and batch process control strategies
  • Possess a working understanding of the production process
  • Ability to configure and program a variety of control systems including PLC and HMI systems
  • Knowledge of reliability centered maintenance, planning and scheduling
  • Automation, Electrical, and / or Instrumentation experience with Allen-Bradley and Siemens
  • Design and implementation knowledge of plant digital business technologies
