Job Summary
Develop and implement menus meeting patient nutritional needs while maintaining quality and variety. Order, receive, and store food in compliance with state and federal regulations, ensuring preparation uses safe and sanitary methods. Monitor and organize kitchen operations, including cleaning and maintenance, while managing departmental budgets and analyzing food costs. Supervise staff in proper food handling, preparation, service, and sanitation procedures, and maintain accurate meal counts and reports. Interact with patients, residents, and families to resolve dietary issues and develop policies based on established standards.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of Dietary Manager's Program, 2-yr, or 4-yr foodservice program
- Successful completion of CDM Credentialing Exam with active certification status
- 2 years' experience in foodservice management
- Skill in motivating, coaching, and supervising foodservice personnel
- Current awareness of legislation and regulations influencing the practice of standards of care
