Job Summary
Manage daily foodservice operations for long-term care facilities, ensuring food quality standards, safety guidelines, and customer service expectations are met. Oversee all training and quality control while adhering to established policies, federal, state, and local regulations. Maintain records and complete web-based reports using basic computer skills. Demonstrate knowledge of purchasing, food handling, preparation, and kitchen equipment operation. Work flexible hours and days within the Metro Detroit area. Lead the Food Service Director in delivering award-winning Food and Nutrition Services solutions.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of experience managing the food and nutrition services department in acute care, long term care, or hospitality industry
- Valid Certified Dietary Manager (CDM/CFPP) certification
- Minimum education: Graduate of an approved ANFP dietary training program, associate degree in food service management, food and nutrition, nutrition and dietetics technician degree, culinary arts degree, or related field
- Must be able to speak, read and write English to communicate effectively with others
- Must be able to work flexible hours and days
- Basic computer skills with the ability to maintain records and complete reports as required, including web-based reporting
- Knowledge of purchasing, food handling, preparation, service, and operation of all kitchen equipment
- Strong background in safety and sanitation compliance
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations as applicable
- Must be local to the Metro Detroit area
Desired Qualifications
- Five (5) or more years food and nutrition services management experience in healthcare and/or senior living environment
- Current ServSafe® certification
