Job Summary
Lead the dietary department in a skilled nursing setting as the Dietary Director/CDM. Direct and participate in meal planning, food preparation, and service delivery to ensure meals are safe, nutritious, and meet physician orders, approved menus, and regulatory standards. Manage department budget, control costs, and oversee ordering of food and supplies. Plan and coordinate special meals for holidays and facility events. Hire, train, supervise, and evaluate dietary staff; manage scheduling and staffing needs. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, maintain diet cards and resident records, and collaborate with nursing, QA/IDT teams to address resident nutrition and satisfaction. Maintain confidentiality of resident information (HIPAA) and provide ongoing staff education and audits. Coordinate with the Dietitian on menu changes and dietary needs; participate in QA/IDT meetings and continuous improvement efforts. The role requires CDM certification or equivalent coursework and experience in long-term care dietary operations.
