Job Summary
Prepare operatories and equipment, including infection control measures, at the start of the day and between clients. Teach oral hygiene to clients and participate in patient education and prevention programs alongside the hygienist and dentist. Sterilize instruments, perform a broad range of chairside duties, and maintain dental supplies and equipment according to clinic standards. Adhere strictly to infection control standards and universal precautions at all times. This part-time (0.8 FTE) contract role is available until January 31, 2027, with a possibility of extension. Candidates must hold Certified Level II training and three years of experience in a large dental clinic, plus one year in a community setting. The position serves under-resourced families in the Region of Peel through Health n' Smiles.
Required Qualifications
- Certified Level II training and in good standing with the ODAA
- At least three years experience in a large dental clinic
- One year experience in a community dental clinic
- Ability to function and work cooperatively as a member of an interdisciplinary team
- Ability to multi task in a fast paced environment
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of dental software (Abeldent) programs and Microsoft Office
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse individuals and groups
- Willingness to participate in WellFort's commitment to becoming an inclusive, barrier-free health centre
- Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team
- Fully compliant with WellFort's Vaccination Policy or proof of religious or medical exemption under the Ontario Human Rights Code
