Job Summary
Certified CT Technologist operates CT equipment under the direction of a radiologist and supervision of a department supervisor, applying Radiology Information Systems, PACS, and data-transfer processes; role emphasizes on-site CT imaging, collaboration with a premier clinical team, and maintaining credentialing and ongoing education. Responsibilities include performing CT scans, ensuring high-quality imaging for diagnosis, and using EMR/RIS/HIS/PACS and related software; requires NYS Radiography licensure and registration, ARRT (Radiography and CT) or NMTCB CT certification, and BLS, with preferred experience in diagnostic imaging and CT.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology program
- New York State Radiology license in Radiography and maintain current New York State registration in Radiography
- New York State certification for intravascular contrast media injection or obtain such certification within six (6) months of hire or transfer
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification and registration in Radiography (R)
- ARRT certification and registration in Computed Tomography (CT) or current NMTCB (CT) certification, or, if not currently held, must satisfy the applicable eligibility requirements and obtain CT certification within six (6) months of hire or transfer
- Must maintain all required continuing education and renewal requirements for New York State and ARRT/NMTCB credentials
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency with EMR, RIS, HIS, PACS, and modality-specific software
