Job Summary
Support patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, feeding, hygiene, and mobility. Perform technical duties such as phlebotomy, vital signs, point of care testing, and EKGs under RN direction. Identify and communicate changes in patient status to the healthcare team while reinforcing education for patients and families. Participate in patient satisfaction initiatives, performance improvement activities, and assist in orienting new hires. Complete annual hospital and unit-specific competencies by required due dates. Work 24 hours a week, 7 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., with weekend and holidays rotation. This role is part of Keleman 8 North, a medical-surgical unit with telemetry capabilities serving 37 patients on the North side.
Required Qualifications
- 0-2 years' experience
- High School/GED
- Patient Care Technician training
- active Patient Care Technician Certification
- AHA Basic Life Support certification
- Successful completion of one of these certifications; CPT, CPCT-A, ACMA
- Part time days, 24 hours a week
- Hours: 7a-7:30p
- weekend/holidays rotation
